Artist Statement
Lena Lor is a Hmong American Christian artist. The tension caused by the unique dynamics of her Asian immigrant upbringing carries the motivation behind her art. Her work seeks to build bridges between cultures and generations, facilitating healing both collectively and individually. Some social issues in which Lena is passionate about include diversity and inclusion, racial reconciliation, and alleviating poverty. She works in a variety of mediums including printmaking, oil pastel, charcoal, colored pencil and digital media. She graduated from John Brown University with a Bachelor of Science in Art and Illustration, complemented by minors in Intercultural Studies and Social Justice. When she is not making art, she is making coffee or traveling.
